Aleksandra Muchin
The origin of the name Bayka comes from the Polish language “bajka”, which means story, fable, fantastic place.
The reason for this name arises from the fact that for the members of this artistic collective, La Bayka is a magical place, full of puppets, objects, and mysterious gadgets that stimulate the imagination and the desire to create.

Cía. Ola Muchin
Aleksandra Muchin, a sociologist by profession and self-taught artisan, decided in 2013 to dedicate herself to the performing arts, acquiring theatrical tools that allowed her to express a poetic discourse in the key of comedy through clowning and buffoonery. She deepened her knowledge of gestural theater and puppet animation with Rita Pelusio, Peter Weyel, Sue Morrison, Jordi Bertran, Ines Pasic, Juliana Notari, Mai Rojas, Federica Porello
among others.
Cía. Ola Muchin merges puppet theater with comic magic and street art. The characters and scenographies of her works are built by experimenting with textiles and fibers, especially using organic materials.
Her training as a sociologist has allowed her to apply methodologies to the research of each of the themes that move in her works: “Kukuryku”: a metaphor for the complexity of human nature, and a tribute to modern witches “Myrmekodia”: environmental criticism
about the use of chemical substances and the lack of symbiosis with nature.
Aleksandra Muchin, during her 10 years of professional career, has visited 33 countries.
During this time she lived in caves, houses submerged in the jungle, tents, boats, and in a motorhome. Her profession has allowed her to get to know the life of people in different corners of the world up close. Living in conditions of few resources, with a lack of water
and electricity, or places with excessive comforts. All this has made her reflect on the human condition and the planet. After 7 years of constant travel, she decided to settle in one place. It was in Barcelona where she felt the desire to belong to a territory, a place she could consider her home. Currently, she lives in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, where she develops new projects as an artist and cultural manager of the cultural space la Bayka.
Cía. Mau Teatro
In 1991, Mauricio Riobó began his work as an actor in the city of Iquique (Chile). In 1994, he incorporated puppets into his shows, which allowed him to unite the plastic arts with dramatic art and oral narration. In 1997, he moved to Santiago de Chile, working in
different theater companies in the capital, alongside prominent figures of the Chilean national scene such as the actor Hugo Medina, Roberto Sánchez, Andrés Pérez, Camila Landon among others.
In 2000, he was invited by the Granit Theater (Belfort, France) to be part of the production“La Lampe sur la Terre”, a project in which he worked under the direction of Ézéquiel Garcia-Romeu. He currently resides in the city of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat where he combines his work as an actor with that of manager of the cultural space la Bayka.
Mauricio Riobó aims with his work to develop a capacity for synthesis, using his voice combined with simple visual resources. In his more than 30 years of work, he amalgamates the tradition of a profession as old as the storyteller with a more contemporary search, experimenting with matter and gesture. In addition to his concerns
as an artist, Mauricio Riobó is passionate about geopolitics, history, and scientific dissemination. He is also a great consumer of science fiction literature, cinema, and comics, artistic expressions that have always inspired him when generating his stories.
